David Beckham ‘will be godfather to Dave Gardner and Liv Tyler’s baby boy Sailor’

In a report by the newspaper, they claim the former England skipper was hand-picked by the sports agent and actress – who welcomed their youngster into the world just two months ago.

A source said: ‘Dave and Becks are close pals and go back years. They speak to each other all the time and their families are well-connected. 

‘They were best men for each other’s weddings so are involved in their major events. ‘Dave knows Becks will always be a great influence for his kids. He’s the perfect choice.’  

Born back in February, it is understood the Liv’s little man was six weeks premature but despite that and an extended stay in hospital, is now very healthy.

Recently, fans saw the youngster’s feet and hands in an Instagram shots the star shared online.

In a picture posted this week the actress said: ‘OMG im completely besotted with these amazing little hands. I just can’t believe I grew them in my belly. So filled with love [sic].’ 

Tyler, who is the daughter of Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler, already has 10-year-old son Milo from her marriage to Royston Langston.

David also has a son with actress Davinia Taylor, who he split from in 2010 after seven years of marriage.

Liv and David started dating in early 2014 and were introduced by Kate Moss.
